In our specially designed classroom, a remarkable transformation takes place, allowing the natural process of first language acquisition. The Bilingual Project immerses young learners in English, allowing them to acquire it effortlessly, just like bilingual children. Unlike traditional methods, students do not learn English as a foreign language but absorb it naturally, without translation, textbooks, or explicit grammar instruction. Instead, English surrounds them in a vibrant, engaging environment where they play, sing, converse, and explore the world through the language—without even realizing they are learning.
The Bilingual Project is divided into two age groups: 3-4 and 5-6 year olds. Both groups follow the same immersive approach, acquiring English through play, storytelling, songs, experiments, and hands-on activities. The older group is also introduced to the English alphabet, similar to a pre-junior level. Since last year, it has been observed that our 6-to-7-year-old students who are now at “junior a” level are already highly advanced English speakers, demonstrating a striking difference with students who were not part of The Bilingual Project the previous year. This method reshapes language education, setting new standards for how early and effectively children develop fluency.
We have been recording the acquisition process and our learners’ milestones throughout the years: Young learners begin by observing and absorbing the language before speaking. Initially, they produce little speech, except for those more naturally inclined to language learning. However, after approximately six months, every child starts forming phrases. They begin with simple responses like yes or no, then name colors, animals, fruits, vegetables, and body parts. Gradually, they construct more complex sentences using it is or it’s [adjective], even forming questions like is it?. At this stage, they understand wh- questions, confidently responding to Where is…?, Who are you?, What is this?, and Why?.
Routine plays a key role in language acquisition. Every lesson starts with an interactive discussion where students confidently state the day, month, weather, and season. By ages 5-6, lessons are conducted entirely in English, and students engage in full conversations—demonstrating comprehension, fluency, and natural speech patterns beyond traditional methods.
Rather than memorizing vocabulary lists or grammar rules, our young learners absorb English through imagination. They act out real-life scenarios in role-play corners, listen to stories, play interactive games, create crafts, and sing and move to English songs. Every themed lesson includes a song that reinforces vocabulary and sentence structures in a fun and memorable way. Language is integrated naturally, making learning feel effortless.
The success of The Bilingual Project is evident beyond the classroom. Parents report their children continue speaking English at home and even initiate conversations with English-speaking peers during summer holidays. This organic use of language outside the classroom is proof of its effectiveness. Their impressive speaking skills are demonstrated in the submission video, which features a fun interview with the 5-6 age group. Their confidence, fluency, and natural expression showcase how deeply they have acquired English. Our official Instagram page features dedicated highlights (TBP 3-4 and TBP 5-6), offering extensive visual documentation demonstrating the innovative nature of The Bilingual Project and the joy it brings to young learners. https://www.instagram.com/real.englishacademy/
