Nomination Description

In Excellent we have as a goal to create some traditions in our school. First of all , there are 3 special events that we organise every year. Halloween Party, Christmas Theatrical Performance and the Carnival Party. The Halloween Party , apart from costumes and the decoration has also a tradition in cooking spooky delicacies. Some of them are prepared at home and others in  our school.Our students can also have a great taste of how “Trick or Treat” is done, since we go out to the market and we “invade” in shops , with which i have already spoken and they accept us.The Big Christmas Celebration is something that we plan 3 months ahead. The students participate in  every part of the preparation, costumes, props, scripts, dance routines. It is the biggest event of our school and it is broadcast by the local channel of Kavala.  There is also the Christmas Card/Story Project , in which our students should prepare a card or a project that tells a christmas story. The Projects are displayed in the Entrance Hall of the Theatre .

The Carnival Party is all about fun, when teachers and students can relax, play, eat ,dance and sing ….in English.

Apart from these , we organise every year a trip to a special place next to our city, usually combining it with Easter Egg Hunting. For example, we have visited a modern sheep and goat  farm that produces milk and other diary products. The students learnt about the whole procedure and then we played Egg Hunting . In 2023 , we visited a horse Riding Academy, where all students had the opportunity to ride a horse under the instructions of guides. Last year , we had an amazing trip in An Ice Cream Factory. At the end of each and every trip we have a tradition. We play a game with rings and balls and cards with words in English, French and German. We call it “Vocabulary Survivor”. Some of our students learn 2 languages in our center so it is very challenging for them to show their skills in more than one language. Moreover , we are happy seeing them having so much fun , running, jumping, and learning at the same time. Multilingualism is something that we support in every way in our school.

Apart from these , we play board games, like Jenga and Monopoly, we play thetarical games like pantomime and puppets . We organise “English Afternoon Tea Parties” , when the students can enjoy tea, biscuits and talk talk, talk! In English of course.

Finally, we are really proud of our educational  trip in the UK . Our students had the chance to have courses in an English college and travel to amazing places in England. We consider it the best thing we can offer our students and the fruits of our work! It is exciting to watch your students thrive in a English speaking environment, with other students from all over the world. We boost their confidence and make them believe they can handle any situation later in their academic life.

To Sum up,   in our school we believe that learning is a gift and can be really fun at the same time. We offer our students lots of kinds of experiences that can be connected to learning  and make them feel happy and proud of themselves!
