Presentation of activities

Preparation

• Students shot introductory videos and uploaded them on a PadletWall to comment, ask for clarifications, and welcome each other to the project.
• They engaged in a guessing game according to which they described a partner from another country to their classmates, who had to guess who this person was.
• In international pairs they participated in dialogues which referred to behaviours while using the internet. Next, they engaged in an asynchronous discussion via the project’s platform (called Discussion) to comment on these behaviours.
• They took part in their 1st online meeting to get to know each other better and vote for their favourite subject through MentiMeter.
• They exchanged animated New Year cards, which they had created with the webtool “I Wish You To”, and posted them on the bulletin board of the project’s platform (called TwinBoard) to exchange further New Year’s wishes with their partners.

Implementation

1. The partner students created a video about their school rooms and explained to their partners what they do in each one of them (Greek video). They used a TwinBoard to post the questions that arose while viewing their partners’ videos and shot a video answering their partners’ questions.
2. They voted for what they liked most about their partners’ schools and captured it in a drawing.
   During their 2nd online meeting, they showed their drawings to their partners.
   After the meeting, they constructed a collaborative mind map with Coggle to place the drawings of their favourite places in their partners’ schools.
3. They participated in an asynchronous Discussion to decide on the webtool they would use to present their cities.
   They were divided into national groups, each of which presented an attraction and placed it on a page of Google Slides (Greek Sights).
4. They participated in another asynchronous Discussion to talk about the attractions that caught their attention in their partners’ cities, arguing for their choice, but also to find out if they shared the same opinion with their partners.
5. They formed six international groups to co-decide on the characteristics they wanted their dream city to have, based on some criteria they were given. To achieve this, they took part in a 3rd online meeting to have a synchronous Discussion. Each member of the international groups wrote their opinion on each criterion and the others commented positively or negatively in order to reach a joint decision. After the end of the meeting, the secretary of each international team typed the characteristics of their team’s dream city in an AI webtool, which created a collaborative digital image of their dream city. The Greek secretaries of international groups 3 and 6 used the webtool AI NightCafe.
6. They created a collaborative ebook (StoryJumper) to add information about festivals organised in the partner countries. The Greek students were divided into national groups and each group wrote information about a specific festival on a page of the ebook. After completing the ebook, the students from each country read carefully its information and watched the videos addded to some pages through QR-codes.
7. They were divided into the same six international groups to create six collaborative multiple-choice quizzes about their festivals with Kahoot. Each country prepared multiple-choice questions for the other countries’ festivals and added them to their international team’s online game.
8. They participated in their 4th online meeting to play online the games they had created themselves.

The project was hosted by:

• the regional online news agency of Western Greece “The Best” (The Best) and
• the school’s blog (School blog)

Assessment

The students assessed their project through:

• an initial assessment at the beginning of the project
• formative assessment after the completion of each individual activity and
• a final assessment at the end of the project.
