Teaching English is more than grammar and vocabulary—it’s about empowering students to think critically, communicate effectively, and engage with the world meaningfully. As an educator and Primary School Coordinator at Ellinoaggliki Agogi School, and owner, academic director, and teacher at The Language Hive, I always try to create a learning environment where English is not just a subject but a gateway to discovery, self-expression, and global awareness. My approach integrates the SDGs (Sustainable Goals in Education), CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning), project-based learning, and visual storytelling, allowing students to connect language learning with real-world experiences.
Beyond the classroom, I am an author, item writer, and proofreader for several publishing houses, committed to creating engaging educational materials. By co-authoring the Glossobooks Imagine and Time Travelers, I aim to reflect my beliefs in teaching through interdisciplinary learning, integrating history, geography, and science with language to encourage critical thinking and creativity. I have also contributed as an item writer and proofreader for various educational publications, ensuring the development of high-quality language content. Holding a BA in English Literature from the American College of Greece, an MA in Twentieth-Century English Literature from the University of Sussex, and a BA in European Studies from the Open University, I combine academic depth with innovative pedagogy. Additionally, I have certifications in ADHD management, creative writing, and digital marketing, enabling me to design engaging, inclusive, and modern educational experiences.
My classroom is a space where students explore big ideas and develop global perspectives. Through sustainability-focused projects, storytelling-based history lessons, ART and AI-integrated creativity tasks, students don’t just learn English—they use it to analyze, express, and problem-solve. Lessons on human rights, climate action, and forensic debate help students see language as a tool for advocacy and change, while science-based projects introduce STEAM vocabulary and interdisciplinary connections. As part of the Global Goals program, that my students take both at Ellinoaggliki and the Language Hive my lessons integrate sustainability and social responsibility into learning, ensuring that students engage with real-world challenges.
My impact extends beyond teaching. As a conference presenter, I have shared insights on sustainability in education at FLF 2024 & 2025, Macmillan Education Day in Patras, and Panhellenic Forensics Association events. My experience as a former Oral Examiner at HAU and a judge at the Panhellenic Forensics Association 2025 competitions allows me to shape assessment and language evaluation. Through these roles, I contribute to teacher training, educational innovation, and language development at a broader level.
Students who leave my classroom are not just language learners—they are thinkers, leaders, and problem-solvers. By integrating soft skills, global awareness, and creativity into language education, I empower them to become confident communicators and socially conscious individuals. English becomes a means for self-expression, exploration, and meaningful dialogue about the world.
Winning this award would be a recognition not just of my work but of the power of education that inspires, challenges, and empowers students to think beyond textbooks and take action in the world. Teaching is not just about delivering content—it’s about igniting curiosity, promoting collaboration, and shaping the next generation of changemakers.
