Nomination Description

My Educational Soft-Skills Coaching Center FS – www.fayesotiriou.com – has been created in order to cover the needs, deal with the educational concerns and empower teachers’ potential  in an era that education, teaching and students are being transformed faster than ever.

Teacher Trainings and Support are based on the following facts:

• The global market is rapidly changing as to the employee’s skills and to the employers’ approach towards their staff.
• Students – after Covid-19 – have different needs, a different mentality and different concerns.
• Teachers face more challenges when teaching, since generations are changing and their needs regarding the learning process become more challenging if not demanding.
• Teachers are not trained to approach students in ways that build emotional connection, safety, trust.
• More focus is placed on students’ performance, rather than students’ personality.

Therefore after teaching – coordinating in different educational, multilingual environments within the last 25 years, and applying my accredited coaching tools and methodologies, I train:

• teachers through educational coaching seminars and workshops in different educational environments.
• Academic audiences (University Students-Teachers) through plenary talks, Q&A panels and workshops both in Greece and abroad (Tehran University – PhD Department of Entrepreneurs, Algeria Conference – 3^rd Catalyst, Cyprus Organizations-Innoventy Ltd).

The content of the educational trainings is either determined:

• by the school itself or
• with my own feedback, through an educational questionnaire that helps teachers decide on their specific needs and concerns.

Regardless of the content of training there are always certain stages that are followed in order for the teachers:

• to understand the importance of their role as a coach and
• the importance of redefining their role as teachers.

STRUCTURE

• Duration of seminars: 1hr -2hrs -3hrs
• Material drawn through my teaching practices, coaching strategies, task assessments.
• Data by OECD – https://www.oecd.org/en.html – (Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development) is part of the trainings
• Multiple structured questions on how and what leads the educator to a self-reflection process
• The use of soft skills is developed through team work and individual tasks.
• Simulation process of teaching: teachers are given tasks to work on as if in real classroom settings both on the student’s and teacher’s perspective
• Self-knowledge tools are activated to help teachers monitor their own teaching profile and acknowledge the type of teaching they adopt, set their goals and the content of their lesson.
• Tasks that lead to the process of emotional connection, safety and trustful environment.
• Empowering tasks that strengthen teachers’ talents/skills and promote practice on areas that need improvement.

During the teaching process:

• Teachers keep notes of their practices
• They use self-reflection tools (record themselves, take a video of the lesson) and tasks that they have practiced during the trainings in order to provide feedback for further discussion in the follow-up of the trainings conducted.
